Brugiano

Rosso Piceno D.O.C.

B rugiano was the name of an ancient quarter in the west side of San Ginesio. In this area there was a memorable battle against the attack of Fermo soldiers, in distant November 1377. The Brugiano ages in oak barrels, it is an intense ruby red wine, full-bodied with spicy notes, pleasantly tannic and good taste-olfactory persistence.

Vinification and Aging

The harvest is manual and respects the order of maturity: first Sangiovese and then Montepulciano. The different varieties of grapes are vinified separately, the process of fermentation on the skins is determined by the specific characteristics of the grapes and it last from 7 to 10 days. After fermentation the wines are blended for the first stage of maturation in small oak barrels. After a long stay in barrels, when the wine has reached its proper maturation, is bottled. It follows a further period of aging in bottle and finally is ready for sale.
