Protected Geographical Indication

T he name derives from the sandstone with which the medieval historical center of San Ginesio is built. The grapes are the white ones typical of our territory, mainly Maceratino and Trebbiano from which it derives delicate aromas, freshness, minerality and armony.

Characteristics of the wine Arenario

Production area

The grapes come from our vineyards located in the territory of San Ginesio and Loro Piceno, between 300 and 400 meters above sea level, oriented to South-East on the hills of the Fiastrella valley. The soil is medium textured, clayey, deep and fertile.


Typical white grapes of our territory, mainly Maceratino, also called Ribona and Trebbiano Toscano.

Vinification and aging

The harvest is manual. The crushing, de-stemming and pressing are made softly. It follows the alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature. The aging on its fine lees lasts for the remaining few months until spring, when the wine is bottled.

Organoleptic characteristics

The color is straw yellow, crystal clear. The aromas are delicate with hints of white flowers, fresh white fruits and citrus fruits. The flavour is dry, tasty, balanced and harmonious.


Appetizers, soups, fried vegetables, rice dishes. Excellent as aperitif, it is perfect with seafood.
